Crown Vics to Debut at Lincoln Speedway June 7

Lincoln, IL— May 16, 2024On Friday, June 7, Lincoln Speedway will have a new race class on the ¼-mile – the newly popular and fast-growing Crown Victoria or Crown Vic class. This class sprouted up at some short tracks around 2022 and instantly gained traction including Kankakee Speedway, a track that Lincoln Speedway officials reached out to for the current rules.

Feeding its growth is an abundance of Ford Crown Victoria cars that are available in junkyards and at city auctions with massive inventories from Law Enforcement and city officials. In addition to massive inventories nationwide, it is an affordable avenue to get into auto racing, perfect for anyone looking to kick off their racing career.

The 2024 schedule shows the Crown Vic class racing on Friday, June 7th, Sunday, June 23rd, and Friday, August 16th. Officials are expecting the class to grow into more of a full-time division in 2025 and more events in the area may arise than the three currently scheduled.

While the Crown Vics debut on June 7, Lincoln Speedway will be back in action this Friday, May 17 with a full five division show including 305 Sprint Cars, Pro Late Models, Modifieds, MARA Midgets, and Street Stocks. Full details at www.lincolnspeedwayil.com.
