KIDS NIGHT AND CANDY SCRAMBLE HIGHLIGHT THIS FRIDAY

lincoln-week3r

On the heels of two exciting weeks of racing to open up the new season at Lincoln Speedway, the third week of excitement lies just around the corner. And this Friday night, it’s all about the Kids.

Friday night April 24 marks the first of four ‘Krazy Kids Nights’ at Lincoln Speedway and includes a Kids Candy Scramble at Intermission. The Candy Scramble is set to happen at Intermission, with Kids 10 and under being invited onto the track’s front stretch. Kids will be split into three groups; ages 4 and under, ages 5 through 7 and 8 through 10. Once the Kids are in their respective groups, the Candy Scramble is on!

Along with the Candy Scramble, Kids can also expect a few more treats throughout the night on Friday.

On track Friday evening, the action includes the Springfield Iron and Metal Pro Late Models, Midwest Technical Institute Modifieds, Speedway Motors Illinois Lightning Sprint Series and the ‘Fabulous Four Cylinder’ Hornets.

The on-track highlight of last week was the electrifying battle to the finish in the Pro Late Model class, which saw New Berlin’s Nick Bauman steal victory from reigning Track Champion Myles Moos in the final laps. Moos, the Hartsburg native, lead a majority of the 20 lap feature, only to have Bauman slip below him on the final circuits to nab the victory, his second straight to start the year.

Back-to-back winners is the trend early in 2015 at Lincoln Speedway. Bauman (Pro Late Models) Brian Lynn (Modifieds), Mitchel Davis (Lightning Sprints) and Mike Eskew (Hornets) have all claimed feature wins in repeating weeks to start the season. Can any or all of them go three-for-three this week?

Cars take to the track at 6:30 PM for Hot Laps, with racing to follow at 7 PM. Adult admission is $12, with Students (ages 11-18) admitted for $7 while Kids 10 and under are admitted FREE.

‘FIVE DOLLAR TOWN PRIDE NIGHTS’ BEGIN NEXT WEEK

The first of three ‘Five Dollar Town Pride Nights’ happens next Friday May 1 at Lincoln Speedway. The first town to be featured is Mason City, meaning anyone who can present an ID at the gate showing they are a resident of Mason City will receive $5 admission to the races. Other ‘Town Pride Nights’ include ‘Mt Pulaski Night’ (May 22) and ‘Lincoln Night’ (June 12).
