MOWA Sprint Cars To Make Lone Lincoln Speedway Appearance Friday Night

(Lincoln, IL) One of the most popular events on the Lincoln Speedway schedule, each season, is coming up this Friday night, July 16, when the Built Ford Tough MOWA Sprint Cars powered by Morrow Brothers come to town. Four other divisions will also race. The MOWA 410 cubic inch winged sprint cars have had three events so far this season, while weather has wreaked havoc on several other events. Ayrton Gennetten bested a field of 28 cars in the season opener at Tri-City Speedway in Granite City, IL. Gennetten came right back in the second event of the season at Lee County Speedway to start his season two-for-two. The most recent event was over one month ago at Jacksonville Speedway with Paul Nienhiser claiming the checkered flag. Test & Tune Days Next For Central Illinois Race Tracks

Macon Speedway & Lincoln Speedway Set For Weekend Practice (Macon, IL) Many drivers in Central Illinois are getting set for their first on track activity, Saturday and Sunday, March 27-28, with test and tune days at Macon Speedway and Lincoln Speedway.  Drivers and teams use the days to fine tune their cars, fill out their registration sheets, and get comfortable back behind the wheel after a long winter. Macon Speedway will open the pits this Saturday, March 27 at 11:00 AM and have cars on track from 12:00 noon to 4:00 PM.  Cars, of any division, that compete at Macon Speedway are welcome.  Pit admission is $25, while grandstand admission is free. Lincoln Speedway Test / Play Day Sunday September 20

Lincoln Speedway will be hosting a Play Day / Test & Tune this coming Sunday, September 20 for those who would like to get some track time for the Fall Nationals or give someone else a chance to try out their car.   Cost is $100 per car, which includes 2 pit passes. Additional pit passes will be sold at the gate. Grandstand admission is free.   Pits will open at 2:00 while on track activity will run from 3:00-6:00.   Teams who would like to register ahead of time online via credit card, give us a call at 217-764-3200. Registration at the track on Sunday is fine as well.

Rico Races To Another MOWA Win At Lincoln Speedway

(Lincoln, IL) Lincoln Speedway was back at it again this past Friday night, July 17 as the Built Ford Tough MOWA Sprint Cars delivered by Morrow Brothers made their only appearance of the year. 30 stout sprint car competitors were pitside in addition to racing from five other divisions. Paul Nienhiser, the 2019 MOWA champion led lap one of the 25-lap feature event. The driver everyone had their eyes on was California wheelman, Rico Abreu, who came from the back of his heat race to claim victory. In the feature, Abreu took the top spot from Nienhiser on lap number two before yellow waved for the first time. As the race wore on, Abreu worked traffic and Nienhiser closed to challenge.
