Champions To Be Crowned On BRANDT Race Night Friday At Lincoln Speedway
(Lincoln, IL) Season championship night will be on track this coming Friday, August 27 at Lincoln Speedway, located at the Logan County Fairgrounds in Lincoln, IL. It will be the final night for drivers to garner track points for the division championships as well as get track time before the huge DIRTcar Fall Nationals event October 1-2. Kewanee, IL driver, Ray Bollinger, has already clinched the 2021 DIRTcar Modified championship at the track, following his fifth win of the season last Friday night. With Bollinger winning five of the ten features so far and his first Lincoln championship, he will be the favorite at this week’s regular season finale as well as the Fall Nationals in October. (Lincoln, IL) One of the most popular events on the Lincoln Speedway schedule, each season, is coming up this Friday night, August 20, when the Morrow Brothers Ford MOWA Sprint Cars come to town. Five other divisions will also race. The MOWA 410 cubic inch winged sprint cars have had four events so far this season, while weather has wreaked havoc on several other events. Ayrton Gennetten bested a field of 28 cars in the season opener at Tri-City Speedway in Granite City, IL. Gennetten came right back in the second event of the season at Lee County Speedway to start his season two-for-two. The most recent events were at Jacksonville Speedway with Paul Nienhiser and Brandon Hanks claiming the checkered flags. (Lincoln, IL) Lincoln Speedway racing action for Friday, July 16 has been canceled due to rain. The Built Ford Tough MOWA Sprints Cars were scheduled to be in action along with the four staple divisions. No reschedule date has been announced but officials are looking for a possible addition. The next event on the Lincoln Speedway schedule is Sunday, July 25 for a special Sunday Funday program of racing. The USAC Engler IMRA SpeeD2 Midgets will be joined by Big Ten Pro Late Models, Modified, Big Ten Street Stocks, and Hornets. For MOWA, their next events are a doubleheader weekend at Jacksonville Speedway and Macon Speedway on Friday and Saturday, July 30/31.
