The four-race run includes four events at four tracks in four days, spanning May 11-14. The inaugural miniseries will pit national, regional, and local Dirt Late Model standouts against one another on the legendary Illinois prairie dirt as they compete for over $89,000 in first-place money from a total payout of over $248,000. Additionally, the miniseries champion will bank $10,000 from a total Top-5 point payout of $22,500. (Lincoln, IL) The 2022-racing season is now set to begin this coming Sunday, April 10th at Lincoln Speedway, located at the Logan County Fairgrounds in Lincoln, IL. Originally scheduled for this Friday, the weather forecast has forced speedway officials to move the event to a day that has a much more favorable forecast, featuring sunshine and temps near 70 degrees. Six divisions of racing action will be racing in the opener, headlined by the first ever Midwest Big Ten Series Modified event. In addition to the DIRTcar Modifieds, DIRTcar Pro Late Models, DIRTcar Sportsman, DIRTcar Street Stocks, Simplot DII Midgets, and DIRTcar Hornets will be racing. “With Friday’s forecast showing a mix of rain and snow and high temps in the low 40’s, we knew that Friday’s event wasn’t likely to happen. (Macon, IL) Macon Speedway officials have announced that the opening test-and-tune, scheduled for Saturday, March 26, has been postponed due to wet grounds from this week’s weather. Test-and-tune set for Sunday, March 27 at Lincoln Speedway will be held as scheduled with an extra day of drying time that will help the process.   Sunday’s opening test at Lincoln Speedway will have pits opening at 11:00 AM and on track activity from 12:00-4:00 PM. Pit admission is $25, while kids 11 and under are $10. Grandstand admission is free. All divisions of race cars are welcome.   Macon Speedway will now hold its first test-and-tune next Saturday, April 2 from 12:00-4:00 PM.
