​Webb Captures $1,000 In Lincoln Speedway Hornet Challenge

Bauman Takes Big Ten Pro Late Model Opener Lincoln Speedway, in Lincoln, IL opened its gates for the third time in 2016 and did so with the best car count of the season.  Fields were full for the $1,000 to win Hornet challenge and the POWRi/Illini D-II Midgets presented by Nutech Seed.  The Pro Late Models were also on hand for their Midwest Big 10 Series opener in addition to Street Stocks and the Midwest Technical Institute Modifieds. Without question, the race of the night was the Hornet challenge.  With $1,000 on the line, some thought the race would be extremely rough, seeing a high number of cautions.  That was not the case at all.  With 23 cars taking the green flag, Adam Webb and Oscar Tipsword raced out front with Kenny Butterfield and Mike Eskew in tow.  Butterfield, who started sixth, moved into the second spot on just the …

Hornet Challenge Weekend Up Next For Lincoln & Macon Speedways

Payout Increase Just Announced   Officials from Track Enterprises in Macon, IL announced in February an unprecedented weekend of racing, camping, partying, and all out fun for Hornet competitors during the month of May. That time is now. The Friday-Saturday doubleheader is this upcoming weekend, Friday, May 6 at Lincoln Speedway and Saturday, May 7 at Macon Speedway. Now, Track Enterprises officials have added to an already sizable payoff.   Due to a lot of interest and positive comments on the weekend, each feature will now pay $1,000 to win and $50 to start, instead of the $30 to start that was originally planned. Bell Rings Loudly At Lincoln IL Speedway

Strong Field Of Super Late Model Put On Fast Paced Show It was week #2 at Lincoln IL Speedway this past Friday, April 22 and the Super Late Models of the Midwest Big Ten Series were at the top of the card.  Joining them were the Midwest Big Ten Street Stocks, Midwest Technical Institute Modifieds, Sportsman, and Hornets.  Many of those in attendance came to see the Super Late Models and they did not disappoint. In Midwest Big Ten Super Late Model qualifying, Sheffield, IL driver Rich Bell bested a field of 22 wicked quick cars to set the fast lap of the night.  Bell’s lap of 14.147  was about a tenth quicker than the lap of Bob Gardner.  Brian Diveley, last year’s Big Ten champion, Ryan Unzicker, and Rick Salter rounded out the top five. Big 10 Street Stocks Join Supers At Lincoln Speedway Friday

Drivers To Garner Points For Season Ending Awards Lincoln Speedway is the site of two special events for the Midwest Big Ten Series this coming Friday, April 22.  For the Big Ten Super Late Models, it is their second event of the year, with the first at Belle-Clair in the books from April 1.  For the Big Ten Street Stocks, it will be the season opener.  In both events, drivers will be trying to garner important points toward their year-end total for points money and trophies. For the Midwest Big Ten Series Super Late Models, this will be the second event of 2016.  At the  Belle-Clair Speedway event on April 1, over 25 Super Late Model competitors were on hand.  Taking the win that night was Chad Zobrist, while Michael Kloos, Andrew Johns, Brian Diveley, and Richard Frost finished off the top five.  Diveley will be one of the favorites …
