Macon Speedway & Lincoln Speedway Announce Off-Season & Early 2020 Season Dates

(Macon, IL) Racing officials at Macon Speedway as well as Lincoln Speedway have announced important off-season dates as well as the season opening dates for each track.   For Lincoln Speedway, 2020 will be the 17th season of racing at the Logan County Fairground track.  At Macon Speedway, 2020 will be an extra special year, as it’s the 75th season of racing.  Season opening weekend will be Friday and Saturday, April 10-11. The awards banquet, celebrating champions and other top drivers from 2019, will be held on Saturday, February 1, 2020 at the Decatur Conference Center and Hotel in Decatur, IL.  Full details and ticket availability will be released in the coming weeks. Rico Races To MOWA Win At Lincoln Speedway

(Lincoln, IL) It was an absolutely picture perfect Friday night in Central Illinois the one and only visit of the Built Ford Tough MOWA Sprint Cars presented by Morrow Brothers at Lincoln Speedway.  The pits were packed, on Lincoln Courier night, with five divisions of racing and the fans saw a good show throughout the evening. 27 winged warriors of the Built Ford Tough MOWA Sprint Cars filled the pits with 22 stars making the A-Main event.  Fan favorites, Rico Abreu and Parker Price-Miller raced to the front of the 25-lap A-Main event with Abreu holding a pretty wheel.  Price-Miller wasn’t far behind, however, just waiting for a mistake to be made.  As the laps wound down, Abreu had his hands full, working heavy lapped traffic with Price-Miller hot on his heels.  In fact, a couple of times, Price-Miller edged ahead for the lead.  The race went green until the …

Final Weekend Of Testing Before Season Starts At Central IL Tracks

Macon Speedway & Lincoln Speedway Have Testing Scheduled (Macon, IL) The 2019 racing season is just about to go green on Macon Speedway in Macon, IL as well as Lincoln Speedway in Lincoln, IL.  For teams and drivers, this will be the final weekend of testing before the season opens up next week. On Saturday, April 6, Macon Speedway will be opening the pits at 11:00 AM with on track testing from 12:00-4:00 PM.  Drivers from all divisions that compete during the season at the track are invited to attend.  Pit admission is $20, while grandstand admission is free. On Sunday, April 7, Lincoln Speedway has a testing session scheduled from 3:30-7:00 PM with pits opening at 2:30.  Much like Macon, the practice is open to all divisions that compete during the course of the season at the track.  Pit admission is also $20 per person, while grandstands are free. Lincoln Speedway Loses Another Test-And-Tune Due To Weather

One Final Test Added For Sunday, April 7 (Lincoln, IL) Heavy rains over the last 36 hours have again put a damper on outdoor activities everywhere, including the Saturday, March 30 test-and-tune that was scheduled for Lincoln Speedway, in Lincoln, IL.  It’s the second straight practice type event that has been canceled to start the 2019 season.  One final test has been added for next Sunday, April 7 at the track. In addition to the one final test that is scheduled for Lincoln, two more test-and-tunes remain on the schedule for Macon Speedway, Sunday, March 30 and Saturday, April 6.  Pit admission is $20, while grandstand admission is free. Officials from Lincoln Speedway in Lincoln, IL have again come to agreement with Hotel Ventures Management to name two host hotels for the 2019 season at the 1/4-mile facility.  For the fourth straight season, drivers, team members, and fans will have the opportunity to save on rooms at the Hampton Inn as well as the Holiday Inn Express when traveling to the Lincoln speedplant. Lincoln Speedway Test and Tune Canceled Due To Weather

(Lincoln, IL) Overnight and Sunday morning rainfall has forced the cancellation of the first Lincoln Speedway test and tune of 2019.  Rainfall moved into Central Illinois late Saturday evening, with several waves of precipitation. As of early Sunday morning, on track activities were still possible, however more rainfall hit shortly thereafter, saturating the grounds.  One more preseason test and tune is scheduled for the facility on Saturday, March 30.  The event will be held from 12:00-4:00 PM with pits opening at 11:00 AM. Pit admission will be $20 with grandstands free.  Lincoln Speedway’s sister track, Macon Speedway, had its first test and tune on Saturday with a strong 32 participants on track. Two additional Macon tests remain on Sunday, March 31 and Saturday, April 6.
